Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update…

I am pleased to say that we had all students involved in the Te Kawa bus accident back today and also heard that Garry is nursing an abrasion on his rib but is otherwise ok.  He will be off for around 10 days while he recovers.  We have continued to monitor all children involved and have had support in place again today.  I want to take this opportunity again to thank all those parents and community members who were so awesome at the scene and for the ongoing support afterwards.  All services that supported us were amazing – I can not speak highly enough of the police, and ambulance officers who were in attendance and the support from GoBus and the Ministry of Education.  Also a huge ‘thank you’ to our staff – you are an amazing team at the best of times… and you exceeded all expectations going above and beyond when we needed you too – yesterday was a true testament to you as professionals, this has been acknowledged repeatedly by all involved.

Finally we are so proud of all of our kids – they were outstanding in a very difficult situation… again this has been reiterated by all involved.  It has been great to catch up with them and see them all back today.
