Korakonui School - Small enough to care yet big enough to challenge and inspire

John Parsons Internet Health and Wellbeing Parent Sessions

On Wednesday 5th June we have John Parsons visiting our school to run a series of Internet Health and Wellbeing sessions with staff and students. These sessions are focused on 'how to keep children safe online'.

As part of John's visit he offers a session for parents and caregivers. This session comes highly recommended and is an interactive workshop, where John encourages debate and audience participation. Parents leave with knowledge that helps them relate to and build strong relationships with their children, focused on supporting parents to raise resilient and capable children.

The session;

- identifies the specific challenges children face when using ICT.

- includes guidance on behaviour management processes for parents in the practical situations they will face.

- empowers parents to take responsibility for safeguarding their children.

- gives parents the tools to support their children in how to use ICT safely and ethically at home and at school.

The parent session starts at 6:30 pm and runs for 90 minutes, and is available for anyone. Free childcare available upon request.

A Google Form was shared via email and Hero last week for whānau. Please RSVP by Tuesday 4th June if you would like to attend this session.
