Senior Swimming Sports Monday

For students in Bayley, Wharepūhunga, Mangawhio & Lethbridge


We are excited about our upcoming Korakonui Swimming Sports on Monday 11th March at Ōtorohanga Pools, Kakamutu Road, ŌTOROHANGA.  A reminder that the competition will start at 9.40am and run through until approx.1.30pm. 

Thank you to those parents who have indicated they are available to transport children to and from the Ōtorohanga Pools. We will be meeting at school at 8.50am on the front steps of school.

If your child will not be attending the day please contact Faye in the office by 8.30am on Monday. If you indicated on your child’s form that your child is needing a ride to Ōtorohanga Pools and you have changed your mind and are now dropping your child off, please email Brittany (brittany@korakonui.school.nz). If you indicated on your child’s form that your child is needing a ride back to school and you are now picking them up from the pools, please email Brittany or let her know at the pools.

If your child usually goes home on the bus and is not going home on the bus on Monday, please contact Faye in the office.

Competitors will need to bring: 

  • Shoes (as they will be walking through a car park)

  • Togs / two towels

  • Sunblock

  • Goggles / swim caps / hair tie (if needed)

  • Warm clothes (this may be a warm jersey or jacket and pants)

  • Water bottle and healthy food that will give them plenty of energy for the day

  • House colours (any ‘house spirit’ costumes are allowed EXCEPT face paint, glitter or anything that may come off your body in the water)

A reminder that we will be running the Parent vs Students vs Staff relay so bring your togs if you’re keen to take part! 


The Lower Waipa Schools inter-school swimming sports will be held on Friday 15th March at the Te Awamutu Events Centre for those students aged 8-13 years chosen to represent Korakonui School.

*We have minimum requirements for each event therefore placings in a school event does not automatically mean that students will be attending the Lower Waipa Swimming Sports. 

**It will be a fast turnaround to get organised for this event so please ensure when the google form is sent out, it is filled in ASAP (preferably by that evening).
