Next week our leadership team (Mrs Murray, Mrs Loader and Mrs McNeil) are jetting off to Melbourne to attend an international conference. We are looking forward to hearing from a panel of international experts on Learning to Learn, and to meeting other leadership teams in Melbourne who are beginning to implement cognitive interventions into their everyday teaching and learning practise. “This is the conference to begin to hear about the implications of the exciting research on the brain and learning – and how this can affect what happens in our classrooms" John Hattie Whilst in Melbourne we will also be visiting an independent school who has implemented the Feuerstein programme, and another school who have made exceptional gains in raising achievement in reading in boys.
